Top 5: Netflix Gems

Netflix

Most people I know have Netflix in one form or another.  The days before it seem almost ancient.  To have to physically drive to a store, see if they have what you want in stock, pay for it, drive home, watch it before the late fees start racking up and then return it….I freaking exhausted myself typing that (we’re a lazy, lazy people).  Just a few years ago Netflix nearly blew up its own successful business model (and I bailed on it for awhile), but now I use their streaming service almost every day.  Last week, Netflix became the first online provider of media to be nominated for an Emmy award for House of Cards and the resurrected Arrested Development.  There’s a lot of good stuff out there; more so TV than movies, so I’m going to give you five series that you may have missed or never heard of that I guarantee you won’t regret watching.  This top 5 is actually a reader request, though, from KT stalwart Glenn Luther and he has a slew of additional top fives he wanted to pass along to the community.  I’ll list my series recommendations first, then Glenn’s.  If you have some of your own, please, comment!  There’s so much stuff out there sometimes we miss gems unless others point them out.

My TV Series to Devour:
1. Sherlock (BBC)
2. Burn Notice (USA)
3. Luther (BBC)
4. Damages (FX)
5. Friday Night Lights (NBC)
