Next Assassin’s Creed Game Title and Setting Confirmed! Get Ready for the French Revolution!

Assassin’s Creed is probably my favorite gaming franchise that doesn’t involve LEGO bricks.  I was seriously disappointed by the tedious slog of AC3 and, truthfully, I haven’t been able to make myself finish it so I feel like I can’t move on to what looks like a blast in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  Well I’d better get a move on, because Ubisoft has confirmed Assassin’s Creed: Unity (no official word on if it’s Assassin’s Creed V yet….which would actually make it Assassin’s Creed VII, but that’s neither here nor there).  Ubisoft literally just confirmed this game existed, so details are scarce.  Watch the teaser, the analysis and then read below for XBOX Achievement’s take on the announcement.  Assassin’s Creed” Unity is slated for a holiday 2014 release.

Ubisoft has just revealed the very first footage from the next-gen Assassin’s Creed: Unity, confirming the game’s existence following this week’s leaked images.

As originally reported, Assassin’s Creed: Unity takes the series to the troubled streets of 18th Century Paris, where the French Revolution is in full swing. You’ll play as dark robed assassin Arno, as this first in-game video shows.

There’ll be more on Assassin’s Creed: Unity for next-gen platforms in the coming months. According to Ubisoft, the game has been in development for over three years and is expected to land in holiday 2014. A last-gen version of AC codenamed Comet is also apparently in the works.

    1. That…is actually kind of a freaking cool idea. I think I could write that. That’s actually an outstanding idea; they’d never do it (the new guy’s name is Arno) but, I commend you, that’s awesome thinking.
