House of Cards, the series which turned Netflix from a rental service into a major player in content development, will return for its third season on February 27th. I hate to ruin anything about a show, so I’ll keep my thoughts on plot developments thin, but I’d strongly recommend rewatching season two. If the show hits the ground like it did last year, it will do so without a recap, picking up where we left off last February. It seems to me that the only thing that can stop the Underwoods at this point is the Underwoods. Can they keep it together as they drive toward the Oval Office? Six weeks to go!
I’m finally watching some series television again. It started with Gotham, which I’m loving despite its considerable flaws. Actually, who am I fooling? I’m mainly in it for Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin. So far this version of the character is one of my favorite villains of all time.
I’ve also been watching a lot of Dr. Who. That’s the series reboot, not the old one that looked like it was shot in someone’s basement. Blacklist is also quite good, in a potboiler-ish sort of way, and now I’m completely seeing James Spader as Ultron. I know there are other, more worthy shows like House of Cards that I should be watching first, but I’m easing myself back into TV after years of staying away.

I LOVE House of Cards… I’m very curious to see if it will stay close to the British original (which the first and early second season mostly did.)
If it does, we’re in for a ride. (Although I feel the ultimate end would be a little predictable and would like to see something different for the US version…)
