Fall 2015 Movie Preview Week-by-Week (Trailer Extravaganza!!!)

Star Wars Episode VII

Let’s not beat around the bush, this is where we’re headed.  We’re all counting the days until December 18th and a return to the Star Wars Universe.  2015 has been, thus far, a year of pleasant surprises like Ex Machina, Mad Max and Furious 7, but overall, not a fantastic year.  The dumbest thing any studio this year did was not follow Disney’s example (including Disney) and take advantage of this six week dead zone we’ve been experiencing since the release of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.  It’s an absolute wasteland out there and has been since the end of July.  Guardians of the Galaxy released a great film at this precise period of time last year and was the year’s top-grossing film.  You’d think someone in a suit would notice that and stop trying to cram every summer movie into May.  People get bored in August and September too.
SPECTRE, James Bond, Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes

This fall isn’t just Star Wars, though, and there are a number of exciting films with the potential to close out the year on a high note.  We have possibly Daniel Craig’s last Bond, the end of The Hunger Games saga, the sequel to last year’s most underrated movie, the adaptation of last year’s best book, the return of Spielberg, more Pixar and more.  But when you get down to it, showing is just so much more fun than telling, isn’t it?  So here: starting this Friday, September 18th, and running through Christmas, here is your Fall 2016 release schedule trailer-by-trailer.  Happy watching, Time Killers, and here’s to a great fall at the movies!
