One of my guilty pleasures is the idiocy and testosterone fueled soap opera that is professional wrestling (I’ve read all of Shakespeare too; I’m a complicated dude). I’ve not been impressed by past WWE 2K entries. It’s so hard to master the variety of things that can happen in the squared circle and out of it in the locker room, and I just haven’t seen it successfully done. Cover star Seth Rollins and RAW GM Kurt Angle go over all the new improvements to the franchise for this year’s edition. For those KTers who check it out, let me know if they succeeded. I dearly want to like these games. I pick one up every few years but they constantly disappoint. I feel like they lack excitement in the matches. If I’m honest, I think they need to build a whole new engine as the one they’re using is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I recently leaned that Andre the Giant grew up near a farm owned by Samuel Beckett, who drove poor Andre to school every morning because he could not fit on the bus.

Yes, I am aware its scripted, but the athleticism is astounding. It’s like watching a largely improvised stunt show. Andre was incredible. There are a number of documentaries on his life and what a fantastic person and physical wonder he was.

I was just giving you a hard time. Of course I understand the appeal.
I hear they are trying to make an Andre the Giant biopic, and I just have no idea how they could possibly pull it off. I really doubt they’ll try to find a man that size who can act. They’ll have to work CGI magic on a smaller guy in a prosthetic bodysuit, for the entire movie. But I hope they do pull it off, because it could be something. Someone involved in the effort was comparing his story to the Elephant Man, and while it’s not quite an analogue, it’s also kind of right.
