This is one of the best trailers I have ever seen. In fact (and please forgive me for what I am about to say, because I love Whiplash and La La Land and am really looking forward to this one) it is almost TOO good. As in, midway though I started realizing it was drawing its power entirely from the artistry, editing skills, etc, of the people putting the trailer together.
Obviously all trailers are carefully calculated to manipulate a potential audience into seeing a movie, but in this case, when I peel back the music and the staccato sequence of images, the only thing I can tell about the film itself is that there will be some outer space vistas that will be quite beautiful. Obviously that does not mean it will be bad tho. Maybe I am wrong about al this, the director made La La Land and pulled no punches there.
If Incredibles 2 is incredible it is going to set my mind at ease a bit about the state of modern cinema. Hollywood is right now hyper focused on big blockbuster fantasies, and if it can’t even get THOSE right… “things fall apart….”
Really looking forward to this film: I’ve read the biography on which it was based, and quite a lot is depicted in the trailer at least.
