The Equalizer 2 Trailer #2 (2018) “There Is No Equal”

Denzel Washington returns to one of his signature roles in the first sequel of his career. Robert McCall serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed – but how far will he go when that is someone he loves?

In the first film, Denzel Washington starred as Robert McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston. When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl, Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters. As he serves vengeance against those who brutalize the helpless, McCall’s desire for justice is reawakened. If someone has a problem, the odds are stacked against them, and they have nowhere else to turn, McCall will help. He is The Equalizer.

Director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Magnificent Seven) returns for the sequel, which also stars Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman, and Melissa Leo. Screenwriter Richard Wenk (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, The Expendables 2) also returned to write the screenplay.

Fuqua’s 2014 adaptation of the 1980s television series The Equalizer grossed over $192 million worldwide and co-starred Chloe Moretz, Marton Csokas, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo.

Denzel Washington in The Equalizer 2

The Equalizer 2 Trailer #1 (2018) “All Enemies Are Not Created Equal”

Denzel Washington is one of only a handful of actors that I will go see literally anything that he does.  He and Tom Hanks are, in my opinion, the two greatest actors of their generation, and probably the only two actors whose entire filmography I’ve seen.  I don’t tend to like Washington’s pairings with Antoine Fuqua, though I did enjoy their update of The Magnificent Seven, and though it isn’t a great film, The Equalizer is a great revenge/action flick.  It will also change the way you look at a Home Depot forever.  Washington is returning to the role of Robert McCall.  In The Equalizer 2, it looks like McCall’s past, hinted at in the first film, is coming home to roost, and in trying to tie up the loose end he’s considered…..well those people clearly didn’t watch what happened in that Home Depot in the first film or they’d have left him and his alone.  The Equalizer 2 opens July 20, 2018.

Trailer Time: Snowden Trailer #2 (2016) *Hero or Traitor?*

There really aren’t many people who have a lukewarm opinion when it comes to Edward Snowden.  People either think he’s a courageous whistleblower for giving journalists millions of classified documents outlining domestic government spying, or people think he’s a traitor and should be executed for giving journalists millions of classified national security documents.  A movie about Snowden seems a perfect project for director Oliver Stone who has elicited a likewise polarizing response among film fans his entire career. Movie Review: London Has Fallen (2016) *Call of Duty: FOX News The MOVIE!*

London Has Fallen, Gerard Butler

London Has Fallen is the completely unneeded sequel to 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen.  In the previous film, terrorists overran the White House and went after President Aaron Eckhart.  He was saved by Super Secret Service Agent Leonidas (Gerard Butler…really just playing Leonidas with guns).  In London Has Fallen, the leaders of all the major countries of the world are traveling to the state funeral of the British Prime Minister, but wily terrorists are again in place and blow up pretty much every major landmark in London in an effort to assassinate them all.  The sole survivor?  You guessed it: President Two-Face and Secret Service Agent Leonidas are on their own in a London TEEMING with terrorists, with only their guts, their Amurrica Can DO and approximately enough ammunition to fell the moon to save them.

Movie Review: The Big Short (2015) *Making Money on a Meltdown*

Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale

I am not a stupid person (I have test scores that back this up, which I would prefer you look at rather than at me in action in actual life); however, I have I giant blind spot in my intellect when it comes to anything financial.  My eyes glaze over and my brain simply will not wrap itself around what makes things tick when it comes to economics.  It’s unfortunate that I’m in the majority when it comes to this, because it is, in large part, what lead to the crash of the housing market, which – in turn – crashed the world’s economy.  Trillions were lost.  Millions (including me) lost their jobs.  The Big Short is the story of a few separate investors who saw what no one else was willing or able to see and how they made a ton of money betting on a global economic collapse.
