Top 5: Star Wars Episode VII Fan Made Posters (Huge Honorable Mention Gallery)

Top 5

I’ve mentioned before how sad it is that the movie poster, which was once an art form, has become incredibly cookie cutter.  Just look at Gravity.  The two main posters are tight shots of Sandra Bullock or George Clooney’s helmeted faces.  That’s it.  For a film that’s visually breathtaking, how can you have a poster a five-year-old could design?  If you haven’t, take a look at the Fan Made Gravity Poster Gallery that we posted a few weeks ago.  These are talented people who should be the ones putting together one of the most important pieces of the film’s visual legacy.

Since the announcement of the sequel trilogy, fan made posters have been hitting the Internet like crazy.  They’ve been brilliant!  We’ve posted a slew of them here and if you’re looking for the best place to find a collection of them on the net, try which has a gigantic collection of posters and wallpapers.  Here are my five favorite and, because there are too many awesome ones to not share more, an honorable mention gallery of greats.  I pity the person who has to follow these talented people.  They’ve made the anticipation of the next installment all the more fun (plus my desktop has never looked so good).

Top 10 Movie and TV Dragons

What’s more awesome than dragons?  Trick question.  There is nothing more awesome than dragons.  FACT.  I concede maybe a Jedi or a Sith….which is why in Star Wars Episode VII there should be a Sith riding a Krayt Dragon.

The good folks at have compiled a smattering (not the best word, but the one I wanted to use) of dragons in list form.  These are their top 10 dragons that have appeared THUS FAR in film and TV.  I have sad news for #10.  Smaug is going to bump you come December 13th so love the glory while you can.  DRAGONS!!!!

Trailer Time: Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag “Cry Freedom” DLC Trailer (2014)

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be a drastic change for the series.  As Edward Kennaway (the grandfather of ACIII‘s Connor), you’ll be sailing the high seas, and Ubisoft‘s first look at the single-player DLC shows us that you’ll be getting to know your crew.  The DLC: Cry Freedom focuses on one crewmember, Adewale:

Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard Edward Kenway’s ship, the Jackdaw. 15 years later, Adewale has become a trained Assassin who finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue without weapons or crew. He now has to acquire a ship and gather his own crew to free the slaves and avenge them. Over 3 hours of new single-player gameplay!

The trailer is…intense.  This is going to be some extremely hard-hitting story territory, but I like that they’re fleshing out the crew so it’s not just Kennaway you get to know over the course of the game.  Ubisoft didn’t give an exact date for the Cry Freedom DLC, but my guess is very late 2013 or early 2014.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag releases October 29th for this generation consoles and at launch with both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
