Killing Time – March 13, 2014

killing time

“As you can see, that leaves almost no time for brooding, lagging, plodding, or procrastinating, and if we stopped to think or laugh, we’d never get nothing done.”

“You mean you’d never get anything done,” corrected Milo.

“We don’t want to get anything done,” snapped another angrily; “we want to get nothing done, and we can do that without your help.”
~Norman Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth

This week I’ve gotten a lot of gaming in playing six or seven different games at the same time.  I picked up a lot of 360 games during the last ultimate sale for 3 or 4 bucks and one of those was Asura’s Wrath.   I’ve played a lot of games.  I think I have achievements in 350 or so games, but AW might be the weirdest game I’ve ever played and not in a good way.  It’s like a cut scene with brief breaks to play and a 19 episode plot that is structured like you’re playing a box set of a drama tv show.  It’s been awhile since I played a Japanese game.  They’re….intriguing when moved over to English.  I’ve got a bunch of other games going, see below for the full deets and, by the way, I’m on both Xboxes and my gamertag is sleeplessdave.  If any KTer ever wants to send me a friend invite, please I’d love to hear from youI’d like to thank all the first time commenters and  our most frequent contributors as well for kicking it up a notch.  I think we’ve had a lot more give and take on posts of late and that makes it more interesting for everyone.

People have been flocking to the Clone Wars poll.  I’ve seen all 13 episodes of season six and if you haven’t yet, head over to Netflix and take care of that  before I post my review this weekend or early next week.  Also remember to vote in the “Best Clone Wars” character poll at the home page.  The voting is close and every character but one has gotten at least one vote.  We’ll revel the KT community’s choice for Best Clone Wars character next Friday, so make sure to get your votes in before then!

Speaking of homepages, we have a new one thanks to IT Supreme Wizard and Mage Glenn Luther, we’re directed off WordPress now to https://killingti.me.  It will give me a lot of freedom to do some cool stuff and I’m looking forward to showing you in the upcoming months.

Killing Time milestones this week: The site passed 61,000 hits this week, 1600 posts, 70 Twitter followers and the next follower will be our 300th by email so act now and get a trip to GREENLAND!!! (no).

Greenland, you cold little turkey turds, you continue to ignore me and I have only to point to French Guiana (hey guys, much love) to warn you that an entire Greenland blog entry on your snootiness in the cold is somehow excuse not to do what Papua New Guinea did which was visit for the first time this week!  Let’s slap some patriotic Papua up!
Papua New Guinea

Oh, but hey-Greenland-we’re not done, because you know who else came by for the first time (odd because I actually know people there) the Central American paradise/mob-run country of Breaking Bad fame: Belize.  I’m going to send you to Belize, Greenland.  Straight up.  GIMME SOME BELIZEAN FLAAAAAAAG!
