Killing Time – April 17, 2014

killing time

Whether we wake or we sleep,
Whether we carol or weep,
The Sun with his Planets in chime,
Marketh the going of Time.
~Edward Fitzgerald

After getting feedback from the KT community and thinking it over, I’ve decided to make a few minor changes to the publishing flow of the site.  There will still be something new up here every day.  Period.  There may not be five somethings every day, though.  I’m going to use our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/justkillingtime2014 increasingly to post  links to items on which I don’t have a whole lot to say.  Rather than rewriting a perfectly good post from another source, I’ll post it there with a brief comment.  The main site will be focusing more on reviews, the weekly columns and longer pieces that I keep meaning to write but get put off by writing five articles on news.

The columns are staying the same, with the exception of Latest vs. Greatest, which will appear every other weekend now.  That particular column requires so much research that keeping a weekly schedule was getting frantic and expensive (I have to rent a lot of crappy movies lol).  Plus, moving it from Wednesday to the weekend gives me a chance to write it when I’m less tired and take the time to dig into a person’s career.  Per the community’s voting, the next four will be: Johnny Depp, Hans Zimmer, Cate Blanchett and Daniel Day-Lewis.  That will take us through Memorial Day so other requests shall have to queue up behind those titans.

Killing Time milestones this week: The site passed 70,000 hits this week!  WOOT!  Also, 1700 posts, 325 followers and no new countries which, I’m fairly certain, we can now fully blame on Greenland.  It’s the big kid in the lunchroom scaring off all the other countries what with its….ice….

The most viewed post of the week was the rundown on the Borderlands Pre-Sequel.
