Okay. So for those of you who aren’t middle-aged white people wallowing in angst, this is the cover to the latest Colplay album called Ghost Stories. I love Coldplay. Love the angst. Super white. Embrace who you are, and I’m the dude who loves Coldplay. Last night I sat down to listen to the latest album (possibly while assembling a LEGO structure – DO NOT JUDGE ME!) and hit “Play”.
Contextual info here. The lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, has long been married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Recently….not so much. This album should have been called GWYNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTH WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? Nine individual tracks riffing on a variation of “I am lonely now”. There’s literally an entire track devoted to how they used to watch TV together and now they don’t and OHGODWHYWHYWHY THE PAIN?
Adele got dumped by someone. You know what she did? She wrote the greatest album in the last 30 years. BAM. Threw that down for debate, but I stand by it. Martin gets dumped and burbles to what sound like Coldplay songs in the background, but I do not feel his pain. His pain is annoying the turd shingles out of me. He’s like the friend you have to take out and get hammered to shut him up about the girl he’s still hung up on. I cannot do this personally since if Chris Martin has read this far, he’s composing, “Dave is a Douche” for his next album. So, other members of Coldplay: get Chris sloshed and get him through this. NON-MUSICALLY! Yes, this was my rant for the entire week.
Killing Time milestones this week: The site roared passed 86,000 hits and May is-by far-our best month ever. The most viewed post of the week was NOT the Depicable Me 2 Review for the first time in Lord knows how long. It was instead KT’s Theory on the Plot of the New Star Wars Trilogy.
