Trailer Time: Into the Woods Trailer #1 (2014)

On the heels of releasing the first pictures from Into the Woods, Disney has dropped the first full trailer for the film.   One of the holiday’s most-anticipated releases is Disney’s adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s fractured fairy tale musical, Into the Woods.  Today, Disney released ten pictures from the film which has a star-studded cast including James Corden as the Baker, Emily Blunt as the Baker’s Wife, Meryl Streep as the Witch, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Cinderella’s Prince, Johnny Depp as the Wolf, and Christine Baranski as the Stepmother. Rob Marshall directed.  Into the Woods will be released Christmas Day.

Movie Review: Let’s Be Cops (2014) ADVANCE REVIEW

lets-be-copsLast night I attended an advanced screening for Let’s Be Cops, which will open nationwide August 13th.  Advanced screenings are always a little weird.  There’s no trailers.  Someone from the studio is always there to remind you that during the entire movie police officers wearing night vision goggles will be making sure that you aren’t YouTubing their film.  Then, afterward, there’s always someone asking what you thought (because they could totally change it at this point).  I sped past the opinion taker on the way out because my feedback for Let’s Be Cops was, “you’ve made a decent rental”. 5 Hi-Res Images from The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies Trailer

I thought the tone for the first BotFA trailer set the perfect tone for what is going to be an epic and heartbreaking film. As with Lord of the Rings, Tolkien doesn’t do neat, happy endings and The Hobbit’s will be made all the more somber by what we know Bilbo is carrying back with him to The Shire. Warner Brothers today released five high-resolution images from the trailer that offer a closer look at Bilbo, Bard and the elves, Azog and the orc army and-of course-Smaug. I feel fairly confident Jackson will stick the landing with the final film, and I can’t wait to see it on December 17, 2014.
