Complete Achievement/Trophy List for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue

Assassin’s Creed fans have a lot to look forward to this year, what with double the assassin action on offer. Where Assassin’s Creed: Unity focuses on the honorable Arno and his quest to help the oppressed proletariat in French Revolution Paris, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue turns the series on its head, casting you in the role of the horribly named Shay Patrick Cormac, an assassin-turned-Templar whose primary remit is to hunt and slay his former brothers.

Picking up with some more naval warfare, Rogue feels instantly familiar as Shay sails his ship, the Morrigan, across the icy North Atlantic ocean. The game aims to fill in some of the blanks between the events of Assassin’s Creed III and sequel Black Flag, putting a full-stop on the whole Kenway saga. As such, we see Connor’s father and Edward’s son Haytham on deck stood beside Shay at the wheel of the Morrigan. He’ll act as Shay’s Templar mentor in Rogue.

The final AC for the 360/PS3 Generation arrives November 11, 2014. Continue reading Complete Achievement/Trophy List for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue

Complete Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Achievement/Trophy List

While I’m normally not much of a fan of the yearly, formulaic Call of Duty game, I really liked last year’s Ghosts.  Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (out November 4th for every vaguely reflective screen) Has no connection with Ghosts and is taking the battle (wait for it)…..TO THE FUTURE!  The one thing I’m curious about is how much Kevin Spacey is actually in this game or if he has just a cameo role.  Spacey’s character plays CoD to unwind on his show House of Cards so now Spacey has come to CoD.  It’s an anything-can-happen-world folks. True Detective Season 2 Has Announced FOUR Leads

True Detective Season Two

If you missed the first season of HBO’s incendiary drama about two detectives investigating a string of occult deaths in the South, then I recommend it with the proviso that you cannot blame me if you don’t sleep for nights afterward and  you understand that there is TO REPEAT extremely EXTREMELY disturbing content.  Have I made that clear?  I just want us still to be friends after you get to the thing with the antlers.  Oh um, Spoilers! TV Review: Gotham 1.01 “Pilot” (FOX)

The first of four new super hero shows this season (Flash, Gotham, Constantine and Peggy Carter Agent of SHIELD) premiered and, while it wasn’t the instant home run that I was hoping for, I have a feeling Gotham is going to build into something quite special.  I, for one, will be along for the ride in what is an origin story for a city, really.  How did the Gotham City that needed a Batman become to be?  That seems to be the show’s guiding principal question.

The protagonists for the show are very much the members of the GCPD.  Drawing ideas and characters from Rucka and Brubaker’s Gotham Central run is never going to be a mistake and we get Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen a bit in the pilot, but the main focus is on the two lead characters in the show: Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock.  It’s an interesting juxtaposition that Bullock is the savvy negotiator of the Gotham streets and Gordon is the greenhorn.  Most depictions of Bullock have him with a donut crammed down his throat half of the time, while Donal Logue’s Bullock is more than walking the borderline of being a dirty cop .  I think his being dragged up, against his will, by Gordon’s stubborn do-gooding is going to be one of the more interesting storylines of the season (series).  The show opens with the iconic murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne.  The camera and set-up is more interested with who was there and who witnessed it before snapping to a horrified Bruce’s scream. Empire Magazine Brings New Images of Chris Nolan’s Interstellar

Though I still have puzzlement issues with the plot, you can’t deny that it’s a pretty looking film and Chris Nolan has a bank of trust built up with me like no one else.  Interstellar will open on November 7, 2014, and Empire Magazine brings us several new looks at the film.
