First Official Poster for Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones (2nd Netflix Series)

Marvel and Netflix have released the first official poster for “AKA Jessica Jones“.  AKA is the second Netflix series of four planned to debut this year and next (Luke Cage and Iron Fist being the others).  Daredevil has already been renewed for a second season and it will return in 2016 as well.  AKA is based off of the comic series Alias by Brian Michael Bendis (who posted this picture via his Twitter; and is also listed on the writing credits for all 13 episodes) and it is BY FAR the most mature material that Marvel has brought into the MCU.  The series starts Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and will debut on Netflix later this year.  DD set a high bar; lets hope the other series can match it.

Working as a private investigator in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen, a troubled ex-superhero’s past comes back to haunt her in the live-action series, “Marvel’s Jessica Jones.”

Movie Review: San Andreas (2015) *Old School Disaster….Film*

San Andreas, Dwayne Johnson
I’m not proud of this, but I have a deep, deep commitment to seeing every film in the theater in which Los Angeles is destroyed, eaten, flattened, devastated, invaded by aliens or burned.  As a former Southern California resident (not native), I find it tremendously cathartic to watch areas where I spent collective days of my life stuck in traffic or damned to “I MISSED MY EXIT” hell.  All of this explains why I was at the first Friday morning showing of Dwayne Johnson’s new disaster film: San Andreas. POLL RESULTS: What MCU Phase 3 Movie Are You Most Excited About?

Crossbones, Frank Grillo, Captain America: Civil War
Frank Grillo as Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War (currently shooting)

This was never even close.  With Cap 3 turning into Captain America: Civil War (or as we’ve taken to calling it – Avengers 2.5), people have their eyes on the next huge event in the MCU.  What I did find interesting is that every film got multiple votes.  This is a phase that seems to have something for everyone and a lot to look forward to over the next four years.  The runners-up are both new franchises introducing characters not exactly A-list on the public consciousness with Black Panther and Dr. Strange, which bodes well for the future of the whole enterprise.  Thanks for everyone who voted, and we’ll have another poll up next week!
