We’ve lost another wonderful actor. Sir John Hurt has passed away. John Hurt may not be an instantly recognizable name to casual film fans, but everyone who has seen a fair number of movies has seen his work. He was Mr. Ollivander in the Harry Potter series. He was The Storyteller in Jim Henson’s wonderful and too-short-lived eponymous series. He was nominated twice for Academy Awards in 1977 for Midnight Express, and for what is probably his most indelible performance, that of the title character in 1980’s The Elephant Man. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and Blu-ray director David Yates’ blockbuster Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, and Ezra Miller. The three releases will be available for purchase on March 28.
Synopsis: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes us to a new era of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, decades before Harry Potter and half a world away. Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl) stars in the central role of Magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters.
The 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray discs of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will feature a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. To experience Dolby Atmos at home, a Dolby Atmos enabled AV receiver and additional speakers are required, or a Dolby Atmos enabled sound bar; however, Dolby Atmos soundtracks are also fully backward compatible with traditional audio configurations and legacy home entertainment equipment.
