Dave, you did me a great disservce, reminding me of the existence of Spider-Ham. I now recall that I was a fan, in my youth, back in the days when he was appearing in the backs of comics. Now I have to BACK to the Lacuna company. Thanks a lot, Dave.
On a more serious note this looks great, animation looks strikingly different from the norm (could be a good thing, could turn out to be a liability) and same goes for the color scheme. I do wish Lord and Miller were more involved.
This will be a very hard sell though. Headlines on Monday morning? “Spider verse eats post-apocalyptic world of roaming cities as season kicks off to disappointing start.”
I’m just joking, I’m under no delusion that i’m a prophet. But if it’s possible to judge from a trailer, this is trying to not be just for kids, yet does not distance itself enough from a kids’ film. It will be a hard sell.
44 million views in the first 24 hours. Honestly I didn’t know how it would be received but that’s impressive. I really like the animation style. I plan on seeing both films opening that weekend. The holiday looks so thin they may both succeed.
44 million is impressive, but I am beginning to notice a disconnect between what happens on the internet and what happens in real life. For example the Twin Peaks revival was the most talked about thing online prior to its premiere, and even the very first episode was a ratings disaster. Also the pre sales for Solo were through the roof.
Speaking of animated superheroes, I read some reviews for Incredibles 2 and I was obviously wrong about it, but only because the trailer was seriously holding back. I can’t see straight.
So, how many are there? 🙂

Thank God, someone finally asked. Somewhere between 90 and 100 depending on your criteria.
