Here it is, Marvelites! Your final Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer before the sequel hits on May 1st. Drink in the spidery goodness and then get to chatting in the comments.
It looks like Sony is going to keep us in countdown posters until the new trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 debuts in three days. Yesterday it was Spidey vs. the Rhino. Today he takes on his archnemesis, The Green Goblin. I think Sony’s pulled a sucker punch with hyping Electro as the main villain of the piece. I think the main villains are actually going to be Norman and Harry Osborn. Don’t get me wrong, I think there’ll be plenty of Electro, but the emotional crux of this film is going to be fathers and sons: Richard and Peter/Norman and Harry and how their lives and legacies collide. We’ll see if I’m right on May 1st.
Happy Saturday, True Believers! As a Marvel-y present this fine, sunny Saturday, we have a new poster for AMS 2 featuring Spidey battling the Rhino (coolest look yet at the mech suit which I really dig…though I’m playing Titanfall right now and that may have something to do with it). The poster is in honor of the fact that in 4 days we’ll get our ….fourth? I believe our fourth AMS2 trailer, most likely the final one, but who knows? Last yeat Star Trek Into Darkness was tossing out trailers like t-shirts into a crowd until it debuted. Amazing Spider-Man 2 will debut in theaters nationwide on May 1, 2014.
UPDATE: Sony apparently was not ready to go primetime with trailer 3 yet and has yanked it from the net. If you got a peek, lucky you. I’ll post it back here when it’s re-released.
Just two weeks after the second trailer spun out of the Super Bowl ad, a third trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has debuted online. I think by now we all know what’s coming for Spidey, but I’ll paste the official synopsis below. AMS 2 swings into theaters on May 2, 2014.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 2, the Marc Webb-directed sequel stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field and B.J. Novak.
