Trailer Time: Alice Through the Looking Glass Trailer #2 (2016) *And Then This Is Still Being Made*

I really liked about 85% of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and I went into the theater waiting for Johnny Depp to run off the rails and he and Burton to perform their mad mutual career destruction act.  I had quite forgotten all of that and was prepared to give it a good review when the FUTTERWACKING showed up and I don’t think I’ve seen something tank what could have been a good movie so badly at the end in my life.  So naturally there’s a sequel just around the corner.

From the write up below from Coming Soon, it doesn’t appear that this will in any way be following the plot of Lewis Carroll’s book. Also Sascha Baron Cohen is involved.  I want to be wrong, and there are some fantastic effects in the trailer, but I futterwackin’ won’t be.  Just wait. Movie Review: Interstellar (2014) *Spoiler-Free As Possible*

interone

Christopher Nolan is, in my opinion, the finest director working today.  I think he’s also one of the finest writers writing today.  I am a huge Nolan fanboy since Following and he’s delivered some of my favorite films.  In fact, the last five Nolan films I’ve rated 10.00s so we knew that streak was going to have to stop at some point.  In a movie like this, where plot is everything, and arguing the minutae of the plot would ruin the experience for people planning to go, I’m going to write this relatively brief review and we can hash out finer points in the comments.  Suffice it to say as a quick summary: this Nolan film was not a sixth 10.

Empire Magazine Brings New Images of Chris Nolan’s Interstellar

Though I still have puzzlement issues with the plot, you can’t deny that it’s a pretty looking film and Chris Nolan has a bank of trust built up with me like no one else.  Interstellar will open on November 7, 2014, and Empire Magazine brings us several new looks at the film.

Interstellar Gallery of Fan Made Posters vs. Studio IMAX Poster

Interstellar, Chris Nolan, Matthew McConaugheyAs readers will know, I’ve expressed a little bit of concern when it comes to Maestro Nolan’s latest upcoming cinematic adventure (click here for rant).  I say this with only the love one could bring to an intervention for a glue-sniffing family member, because I love Nolan and I want this to be good so badly.  I REQUIRE this to be good.  In MY life right now….this being good is kind of essential.  Paramount released the IMAX poster for the film today, and it’s ok.  It’s studio cardboard.  But the excellent folks at The Poster Posse at Blurppy.com (must-visit site) got together a group of some of the finest poster painting talent out on the web and…well, you be the judge as to who takes home the prize?
