Call of Duty: WWII Complete Achievement List (Xbox, PS4, PC – 2017)

Big budget video games are eschewing the traditional Tuesday video game releases and are now trending more to Friday releases like the blockbusters they are.  No franchise rakes in the bucks like Call of Duty, and the series-after several forays into the future-is returning to its roots with Call of Duty: WWII.  You could be forgiven for mistaking the game for a war film with the graphics quality and the return to the series roots: the familiar Band of Brothers path from Normandy to D-Day.  Achievements below from the Intertubes best site for such matters: xboxachievements.com.  Call of Duty: WWII releases November 3, 2017. Complete Achievement/Trophy List for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (Xbox, Playstation – 2016)

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, despite my being sick of the franchise as it stands now, has an incredible bonus going for it: it’s currently the only way to get your hands on the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (among the best shooters ever made).  THIS is Call of Duty at its absolute peak.  The multiplayer was revolutionary and the campaign wasn’t just tacked-on; it was a blockbuster  you were driving from start to finish.  I have no doubt that eventually we’ll be able to get our hands on it without purchasing the bundle, but if you cave, your cheevos are below, courtesy of xboxachievements.com.  I know it seems it’s raining new games, but that’s because it is.  For whatever reason, we can’t space releases out throughout the year; all big games come out between September and the first week in December (and then there’s not even an Xbox game scheduled for release until the end of January).  It’s crazy, but for non-gamers, the turn back toward mostly film coverage is coming.  This is just gaming’s redonkulous busy season. Complete Achievement/Trophy List for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (Xbox, Playstation – 2016)

Call of Duty is here with its annual installment of token campaigning  followed by multiplayer that will swallow your life.  I actually have to say that I have lost all interest in Call of Duty as it goes further and further into a science fiction future.  The pinnacle of the series, ironically, is getting a remastered packaging with CoD:IW.  When Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released, it changed the shooter genre forever.  Yes, it had amazing multiplayer, but it also had a killer campaign and was rooted in the military of today.  This entire genre started back with Medal of Honor, and it’s been at its best when it has put players in historic/current military situations.  I’m playing Battlefield 1 right now, and it’s astoundingly good.  I’m sure CoD is well-made, but if I want a science fiction shooter, Titanfall 2 looks amazing and Gears of War 4 is the best entry in the series since the second game.  This will sell 10 million copies, and that’s great, but I really have completely lost interest in the franchise (sigh, yes, there are zombies again too). I know that a ton of people are waiting for the midnight launch, and I hope you have a blast.  Cheevos below, as always, courtesy of the good folks at xboxachievements.com. Complete Achievement/Trophy List for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox, Playstation – 2015)

This has been one of the best games for video games in recent memory already and with HALO 5, Fallout 4 and Star Wars: Battlefront still in front of us, I kind of forget that Call of Duty: Black Ops III is coming out.  It releases the same day as SPECTRE (November 6, 2015), so it’s not even the biggest media event of that day on my horizon.  That being said, I don’t play CoD multiplayer (I know, I’m the only one who plays the story) and I’m sure the game will sell 10 million copies without me and make as much bank as SPECTRE will.  Cheevos and trophies below, courtesy as always of the peerless xboxachievements.com.

Complete Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Achievement/Trophy List

Call-of-Duty-Advanced-Warfare

While I’m normally not much of a fan of the yearly, formulaic Call of Duty game, I really liked last year’s Ghosts.  Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (out November 4th for every vaguely reflective screen) Has no connection with Ghosts and is taking the battle (wait for it)…..TO THE FUTURE!  The one thing I’m curious about is how much Kevin Spacey is actually in this game or if he has just a cameo role.  Spacey’s character plays CoD to unwind on his show House of Cards so now Spacey has come to CoD.  It’s an anything-can-happen-world folks.
