Trailer Time: Rogue One – A Star Wars Story International Trailer #2 (2016) *It’s Nearly Vader Time!*

My apologies for technical difficulties this week, but hopefully the Killing Time IT staff has fixed our vexing computer woes.  In return, I give you ANOTHER ROGUE ONE TRAILER!  I know the last two they posted I said was probably the last one, but I’m happily made a liar again as Lucasfilm releases an unprecedented number of trailers for this first Star Wars spin-off film.  This is the second international trailer, and while it follows the course of the last domestic trailer, there’s more Vader and Death Star action, so watch it on a loop!  We’re only five weeks away from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when it opens December 16, 2016.

Movie Review: Blood Father (2016) *Mad Mel*

Mel Gibson, Blood Father

I have not seen a Mel Gibson film in 14 years (not since Signs).  In those 14 years, Gibson directed The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto, went racisty insane, and got backhanded by pretty much the entire world. Gibson has made a few small movies since he’s been back, and is planning to direct a sequel to The Passion of the Christ focusing on The Resurrection, but Blood Father is getting a lot of critical acclaim, so I decided to give it a chance. Trailer Time: Rogue One – A Star Wars Story International Trailer #1 (2016) *May The Force Be With Us*

Today the first International Trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released, and while the footage is mostly a combination of the teaser and domestic trailer, there are a few key lines of dialogue included in this trailer that focus on the relationship between Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her father Galen (Mads Mikkelsen).  Plus, it’s Star Wars, so of course we’re going to scrutinize it.  Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens December 16, 2016.

Trailer Time: Rogue One – A Star Wars Story Trailer #2 (2016) *Hope Sparks Rebellion*

Well, it’s finally here: the second (and likely final) trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  We’ll break it down and try to get a gallery of stills up as soon as possible, but just keep hitting play for awhile.  Here’s the official synopsis.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,’ an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.
