After four and a half days powerless, the Killing Time home office is up and running again! The big geek news of the day centers around the ongoing drama (and impressive train wreck) that is Warner Brother efforts to bring the DCU to the big screen. Regardless of the lukewarm reception of Batman vs. Superman, the film made $850 million worldwide (not enough for WB to consider it a hit, but it’s not chump change). Next year will bring us a solo Wonder Woman film, and in November, the first installment of Justice League. Today, the film’s villain, synopsis, and new Batmobile were revealed and while the direction is ultimately what fans probably expect, the main antagonist next year isn’t going to be Darkseid. There’s no way to really discuss this without getting into spoilers from Batman vs. Superman, so if you’ve been waiting, bail now or deal with it. Now that it’s become clear that the follow-up to Man of Steel is not so much a Man of Steel sequel, but a Justice League prequel, we need to fill in a few roster spots between now and when the JLA hits the screen in 2017. Batman, Superman, Cyborg and Wonder Woman have all been cast for multiple films, so their inclusion in the team seems a done deal. That leaves three spots left if we’re going with the traditional seven-member team. Who should get the nod? Continue reading Top 5 Candidates to Fill Out Zack Snyder’s Justice League Roster
By now, I think we’re all familiar with my crippling LEGO addiction so it goes without saying that this will be pre-ordered by the end of the day. LEGO Hobbit was a bit of a disappointment, so I need the return of …THE LEGO DARK KNIGHT! The only thing that would make me happier would be if Will Arnett, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill were reprising their roles from The LEGO Movie. I have to say, part of me never thought it would happen (inevitable though it has been for the last two years). DC has announced that Batman vs. Superman will shoot back-to-back with a Justice League movie that will release possibly as soon as 2017. As far as cast, I think we can assume Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher (or Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg) since they’ve already been cast. Traditionally JLA rosters have seven members, Green Lantern is a no-brainer. The Flash is the other constant, but with his TV show likely still going on, will they use the TV Flash or cast and alternate and keep the burgeoning DCU Movie Universe separate from its TV Universe? The seventh slot rotates depending on the writer’s preference: Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Green Arrow are the most frequently used. How do you feel about Snyder taking on shooting a Batman/Superman film and a Justice League film back-to-back. It almost makes adapting Watchmen look easy.
