Injustice 2 – Complete Achievement/Trophy List (2017-Xbox, Playstation)

Injustice: Gods Among Us is one of the best fighting games I’ve ever played, not just because the fighting mechanics were great and the iconic DCU environments all perfect.  Injustice got its characters and wove a fantastic story into a genre into which there usually is little to none.  The story of Superman’s fall from grace into global tyrant and the civil war it sparked among the DC heroes was so good it sparked a comic that ran for the five years inbetween the game’s release and the upcoming sequel Injustice 2.

This installment promises to be one of the games of 2017 with more heroes, an intriguing customization and leveling system, and hype built on story, story, story.  A five-part cinematic ramp up entitled Shattered Alliances and included above gives a look at the games roster and serves as a prelude to the DCU’s war with Braniac.  The achievement list looks like a lot of fun and gives some insight into the settings and what appears to be deep replay value of the game.  Injustice 2 will release on May 16, 2017 for Xbox One and Playstation 4.  As always your achievements below are provided by the peerless xboxachievements.com. Trailer Time: Injustice Gods Among Us 2 Announcement Teaser (Xbox, Playstation – 2017)

Injustice Gods Among Us was one of the best, most addictive fighting games that I’ve ever played.  It was based on story, and that story has continued in the comics (where they’re currently in Year Five after the destruction of Metropolis).  The sequel looks to drop in March of next year.  Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman, Supergirl, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd are the only seven characters confirmed so far, but the press releases are touting a very deep roster, so expect that number to grow.  Dynasty on YouTube has a few more details on gameplay before he starts freaking out about microtransactions (once that starts, just tune him out as we’re 10 months away from release and that seems like really premature freak out.  With E3 next week, expect a lot of video game announcements coming up!

PS – Is it just me or does the voice in the trailer sound like Bryan Cranston?

VGX (Formerly the VGAs) Nominees Announced

vgxawardsComing Soon posted the nominees for this year’s VGAs, which are now going to be called the VGX.  No, I do not know why, but this is as close as video gamedom gets to Oscars, so let’s go through the nominees and I’ll give my personal pick.  This has been an overall weak year for games as consoles themselves has stolen the spotlight.  This has been, I believe, to the detriment of gamers because both PS4 and Xbone are launching without a signature exclusive game.  I don’t know that we’ve ever had console launches without a game of note to play on those consoles.  My feeling is that the launch of next gen was a year premature.  Imagine if Destiny, Titanfall, Kingdom Hearts III, a new Halo, and more were all launch titles.  This whole console race felt like just that: a race.  Get it out first and we’ll fix it all later.  Hopefully, next year when we see those new games debuting, we’ll truly reap the benefits of next gen gaming.

VGX will be live streamed for three-hours on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 6:00 PM ET / 3:00 PM PT. VGX will continue the tradition of showcasing world premiere game trailers but for the first time ever, the show will offer extended demos of the next generation of games, 1-on-1 interviews and panels.

Killing Time – July 18, 2013

Killing Time

We’ll make this a quick check-in this week.  Emmy nominations and Comic Con fatigue (aaaand it just started) have deleted my reserve of words.  I pushed through and finally beat Borderlands 2 and in-between watched episodes of Covert Affairs.  This weekend I literally read 8 books.  That’s a lot even for me and may explain why my eyes have been aching for days….

KT milestones this week: 16,000 hits; 1,000 “likes”; and blazed past the 750 posts mark.  Uruguay and Mongolia graced the site for the first time, leaving French Guiana as the only South American country to hold out on me.  What’s up with that?  Would it entice you, French Guiananians….may have got that wrong, to know I know all the dirty words in French?  Hmm?  Intrigued?  Come on in, enjoy the madness.  What did y’all (because they say that in French Guiana) kill time with this week?

Books:
The Wit and Wisdom of Discworld by Terry Pratchett
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

Blu Ray:

TV/HULU:

Song of the Week:  Hans Zimmer’s reworking of the William Tell Overture for The Lone Ranger soundtrack.  It almost makes me want to try the film…..almost.

Video Game:
Borderlands 2 (Level 33 Gunzerker; playing DLC Capt. Scarlet)
Magic: The Gathering 2014
Injustice Gods Among Us

Killing Time – July 11, 2013

Killing Time

Suits went by way too quickly and now I think I’ve finally run out of TV binging options.  I’m watching Psych and Covert Affairs, and they’re good, but they’re more watch an episode here and there shows.  I’m looking for shows where you watch 18 in a row.  I think I’ve run out of options there.

I’m still grinding away at the main quest of Borderlands 2 (you die a wholllle lot more in this than in the first game).  I will kill you, Handsome Jack.  I have now listened to you taunt me with your smarmy taunts for thirty hours of turning your psycho army into paste.  I’m coming for you, and I’m bringing absurdly huge guns that fire acid and electricity with me!  Sorry, lost focus there for a minute.  It’s a bad combination of a character that inspires grudges and a person who has never dropped a grudge in his life.

KT milestones this week: 14,000 hits (probably pass 15k today) and Swaziland and Afghanistan visited the site for the first time.  Now that it has come out and landed like a wet turd on the sidewalk (bad visual but an actual quote from a review of it I read), I want to ask you guys….what the HECK is with you and The Lone Ranger trailer?  Given my dread of what was being done to one of my childhood icons, I only posted one trailer for that movie.  That post has gotten more hits than any other post of the 730+ I’ve done in the six months I’ve had this site.  On one hand, it boosted my numbers so that was cool.  On the other hand, I spend hours on some of these articles and that damn trailer was drawing so much attention that I think any time someone typed “lone ranger” into Google, it ended up at that post.  It could have had its own site and beaten me senseless, is what I’m saying.  Fine, all right.  I’m a little obsessed with the stats on the site.  It’s a perfect genetic storm of OCD, a father who’s an engineer and a mother who’s an English professor.  Stop judging me and tell me what you’re killing time with this week!
