My Favorite Scene: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) “Rey & Kylo vs. Snoke’s Praetorian Guard”

Six months removed from the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans have some perspective but little direction.  For a film that did so well at the box office, it sure vanished off the cultural and geek landscape quickly.  After The Force Awakens, people were still buzzing about the film a year after its release.  Most fans I know put it behind them, or are looking to JJ Abrams to somehow make sense of Rian Johnson’s film in Episode IX.  Not even Star Wars fans seem very pumped about Solo’s release this week.  Whether you thought it was brilliant (which passes my understanding) or, like me, thought it was an incredible misstep that broke characters and plot lines irredeemably, the point of these columns is to highlight the best of a film.  Maybe the thing about The Last Jedi that most frustrating is that there is enough coolness in it to not be able to hate it straight out.  However, in every bit of greatness in the film there’s something embedded that makes nitpicking Star Wars fans (and we do love to nitpick like no others) wince. Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi International Trailers #2 & 3 “It’s The Only Way To Become Who You Were Meant to Be”

The second and third international trailers for Star Wars Episode VIII have dropped.  While the second offers only a little additional dialogue from Kylo in his speech about killing the past, the third gives some new footage.  Unlike all the other trailers, the third international trailer, reminds us that The Last Jedi is picking up right where The Force Awakens left off (the first time there has never been a time lapse of at least a year between Saga episodes).  We also get a quick look inside Canto Bight and a little more of the Battle of Crait.  10 days, people, we’re down to 10 days!!!!

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past. The film stars Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.

10 Big Questions Going Into Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Daisy Ridley in Star Wars: The Last Jedi
As The Last Jedi approaches, many Star Wars fans are coming up in full preparation mode, scrutinizing every detail of the eighth episode in the Saga whether it be the exciting props, from box office odds to who will Kylo Ren kill, the questions are endless.  I’ve pared it down to ten critical queries as we hit T-minus two weeks until Episode VII opens.  No spoilers below, simply my best guesses, combined with a few answers straight from director Rian Johnson. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) TV Spot “LUKE IS ON THE FALCON!!!”

36 DAYS TO GO, PEOPLE!!!  This latest TV spot offers a little new footage, the most significant of which is Luke on the Falcon for the first time in who knows when.  Some people may consider this a spoiler, but …..the ship is on the island…..we know he’s going to get his cranky butt off the island at some point…..THE SHIP IS ALREADY ON THE ISLAND!  It also gives a loot at what appears to be Snoke’s throne room for the first time.  Why isn’t this movie already here????

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi International Trailer #1 “Let the Past Die. Kill It.”

The first international trailer for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is out, and it does have a few new shots for American audiences, but is largely a remixed version of the full trailer we got (click here to watch) earlier this month.  Interestingly, while the domestic trailer starts with and focuses more on Kylo Ren, the international trailer flips and starts with Rey and Luke.  Either way, we’re only six weeks out now from release date, and this movie cannot get here soon enough.
