The next big video game release on the horizon is the final installment in what has been one of the most epic RPG sagas in recent gaming history: The Witcher. Based on a series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the games follow Witcher (monster hunter, basically) Geralt of Rivia as he travels the land, slaying beasts, completing quests and the whatnot. Boasting some of the strongest graphics on any console on which it’s published, The Witcher III promises an immense game world. Just to give you an idea how immense, the two planned expansions for the game; THE ADD-ONS; are said to take 30 hours to complete. Plan on spending a lot of monster slaying fun with Geralt when the game hits consoles and PC on May 19, 2015. Those of us looking forward to the final adventure of The Witcher – Geralt – of Rivia, are going to have to wait 12 weeks longer than we were hoping to get our hands on a copy of Witcher III: The Final Hunt. I’m actually only bummed about this because it leaves the beginning of 2015 kind of a wasteland for gamers and there’s usually at least one huge title to look forward to playing. The Witcher III will now be coming out in May, and given that the world is 35 times larger than the enormous one in The Witcher II: Assassin of Kings, I’d rather they take the time to get everything working perfectly. A letter from The Board of CD PROJEKT SA to gamers is below explaining the delay. Continue reading The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Delayed Again→
One of the most criminally overlooked games of the last generation was the all-ages RPG Costume Quest. Basically, you and your friends roam the neighborhood, collecting different costumes and using those costume’s abilities to defeat monsters there to snack on oblivious adults. Or let the monsters eat the stupid adults. It’s all about choices, people. Costume Quest 2 is out now for download so get to it!
There are 18 achievements with a total of 1000 points.
Those looking forward to continuing the adventures of Geralt on next generation consoles are going to have to wait until next year to do it. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt has been delayed until February 2015. Let not that take from your enjoyment of this spectacular pre-E3 trailer for the game, which promises to close Geralt’s story in a game world 45 TIMES the size of Witcher 2 (which was massive itself).
The world of Dragon Age is one of my favorite in gaming so I’m thrilled to see gameplay footage from one of the fall’s biggest releases. I’m not so thrilled that the release date is 10/7; the same as Assassin’s Creed V and a week before Batman: Arkham Knight. People will buy quality games year-round. glutting September through November does nothing but ensure that some games are left unplayed and that gamers are forced to make choices they shouldn’t have to make since, for example, NOTHING came out this week. Do they seriously think we wouldn’t be there for this if it was an April release? Come on, people! Official synopsis below.
