Pacific Rim: Uprising Trailer #1 (2018) “RISE JAEGERS RISE!!!”

Pacific Rim was a lot of stupid, huge fun, but it could have been more.  Charlie Hunan is not a strong lead, and not even the greatest name a character has had outside of the Star Wars Universe: Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost, could save it from being essentially a huge B-movie.  But oh there is an uprising….there is an uprising a’coming, people, and a Pentecost is leading it!.  And if your last name happens to be Jaeger (which mine does), you are going to play this first teaser trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising every morning like audio cocaine to start your day until the film opens in February 2018.  The first full trailer gives us a lot more of a look at next gen Jaegers and Kaijus and the action between them seems a lot more fluid than in the first film.  Coming Soon has confirmed story details below from NYCC.

Trailer Time: Fury International Trailer #1 (2014) Brad Pitt WW2 Drama

If you asked me to guess Best Picture right now, based on gut feeling, trailers and how the Academy works, I’d say Fury is the front-runner.  Not only does it have Brad Pitt killing Nazis (which worked out gangbusters in Inglorious Basterds), it has a solid director in David Ayer, strong supporting cast (Shia LeBeouf notwithstanding) and the trailers have looked phenomenal.  The release date for the film was recently pushed up a month to free it from the Thanksgiving logjam, so we’ll see if I’m right when it hits theaters on October 17, 2014.  Synopsis below

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Trailer Time: Fury (2014) and First Poster from Brad Pitt’s World War II Film

This is one to watch for the fall (when hopefully good movies will begin to show themselves again).  Fury is a David Ayer-directed, World War II tank drama.  In addition to Brad Pitt, the cast includes Shia LeBeouf (presumably pre-retirement), Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs and Michael Pena.  Fury will release November 14, 2014.  Synopsis below
