Trailer Time: Star Wars – Rebels Season 4 Trailer #1 “One Last Battle”

At Star Wars Celebration, as expected, it was officially announced that the upcoming fourth season of Star Wars: Rebels will be its last and the first trailer for that final season was unveiled.  There is no animated series currently announced to continue on, so this looks like it will bring to an end a combined 10-season run between Clone Wars and Rebels under the direction of David Filoni. Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi Trailer – HD Screenshots and Breakdown

Having watched it about ten times now, the first teaser for The Last Jedi is a decidedly different roll out than either The Force Awakens or Rogue One got.  It’s definitely a teaser; not a full trailer and still gives very little away on plot, but what it does give is pretty jaw-dropping.  It looks like Luke did indeed find the first Jedi Temple, and agrees to train Rey (remember, this film will pick up exactly where Episode VII ended).  Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is on the teaser poster sporting a new scar courtesy of Rey and it looks like he’s ditched the helmet (what would grandfather think?).  Aside from that, the shots are very cryptic; new ships, Finn still recovering, a brief look at the new Super AT-ATs, but the shocker is the end of the teaser and Luke’s opinion of the Jedi.  Far from restarting the order, Luke says, “It’s time for the Jedi….to end.”  Stills from the trailer and more speculation below. Rogue One Poster and New Footage from Star Wars: Celebration!!!

This weekend is the Star Wars: Fan Celebration in London, and currently ongoing is the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Panel.  The full cast, along with director Gareth Edwards and Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy is discussing new details about their characters and the plot of the first Star Wars spin-off.  The film is based on a single line from the original film’s opening crawl that says the plans for the Death Star were stolen.  Expanding that into a full film will be the job of December’s release.  The full trailer is going to be out later today, but Edwards unveiled this Celebration reel with a ton of new footage.  Also unveiled was the film’s official poster (see below) and the name of the tropical planet seen in the trailer and poster: Scariff.  Stay tuned for more Rogue One footage later today, and Star Wars developments all weekend.  Rogue One opens December 16, 2016.

Trailer Time: Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Trailer #1 (2015 – Disney XD) *Ahsoka is Back and So is Her Fallen Master*

Because I’m not a regular viewer of Disney XD, I decided to wait for Star Wars: Rebels to come out on blu ray.  That being said, I’ve heard nothing but good things, and this trailer (which as far as I know is the last one to come out of 2015’s Star Wars Celebration and I don’t know if we geeks can handle much more awesome at this point) promises the second season will lock the series in line with Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  The trailer features the return of an adult Ahsoka Tano (Anakin’s apprentice whose fate was left in limbo at the end of Clone Wars), and it looks like her fallen master will be nipping at the heels of our heroes himself from this point forward.  Season two will premiere later this year on Disney XD and I’d anticipate a season one release date for blu ray soon.
