Dave, the link above is to the second trailer… not the third. Also, how can quicksilver be used in both xmen as well as avengers? I thought the rights to these characters were owned by the different respective studios?

YIKES! Bravo, man, thanks for the catch. Happens when you post right before falling asleep. Okay, here’s the fun. Both Fox and Marvel have rights to Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. They are unique characters with both Avengers and X-Men properties and they are split that way. Marvel can in no way use the word “mutant” regarding their powers or refer to their parentage (they don’t own the rights to Magneto so they can’t even mention him). Fox cannot use any storylines or portions of the characters spun off from their time in the Avengers. For that reason Quicksilver is much easier to use because he doesn’t have definitive storylines and Scarlet Witch does and they’re almost all Avengerish (with the exception of House of M if they ever wanted to do that story, Fox could use her). But her romance with Vision, her faux children, her going nuts is all in the Avengers so it’s Marvel’s to use. It’s the only case like it that I know of in all of the MCU so it’s a good question.
