Spider-Man 3 is not as bad as you remember it. Somehow, in the seven years since its release, Spidey 3 has become the Batman & Robin of modern comic movies. I saw Batman & Robin in the theatre. I left in a homicidal rage. I also saw Spider-Man 3 in the theatre and it’s not responsible for any cold cases. Continue reading My Favorite Scene: Spider-Man 3 – “The Birth of Sandman”→
Marc Webb has announced that while he will return for Amazing Spider-Man 3, it will be his last film in the franchise. Amazing Spider-Man 4, a Sinister Six film and a Venom film are all planned for the Sony Spidey-verse. Webb, whose name really does require that he does nothing but these films forever, says he’s ready to move on to other things.
I think any doubt that Harry Osborn is going full Goblin in Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been dispelled by this latest released photo. I think the Osborns are going to be the real villains of this film and the stuff with Electro and Rhino has been a smokescreen. Not that they’re not in it or a big part, but I think this is more an Oscorp movie than it is “Electro’s movie”. I don’t know how I feel about the Goblin look. I also think this may be very nascent Goblin and we’ll get a different, more classic look in AMS 3. This doesn’t leave much doubt though. Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2nd.
I was just going to post the other half of the Amazing Spidey 2 trailer from the game, but this morning Sony has released those combined trailers with new footage for a trailer entitled “Enemies Unite”. Essentially telling the origin of Electro from the film, then moving on to the gestating Sinister Six. I’ve gone from total skeptic to radically on-board over the last year and now I just need to see this thing. This is a fantastic trailer and never did I think they could make Electro cool. I live in a world where Whiplash and Electro were played by Oscar-winners…..whaaaaaaaaat? Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2, 2014.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is so epic that its Super Bowl trailer is being leaked in two parts: one today and one tomorrow. I keep getting more hyped for all four Marvel movies this year and I think the tipping point toward being nutsy about this film came in the trailer when for a brief second you see in Oscorp the Vulture’s wings and Dr. Octopus’ arms in storage. The Amazing Spider-Man opens May 2, 2014. You know you’ll be there.
