Paul Rudd is a freakishly affable human being. There are actors whose sheer talent makes all things possible for them. Rudd has built an entire comedic legacy out of being possibly the most likable person alive. Working in TV and Movies since his early twenties, dRudd has an extremely impressive resume of comedy hits in an era that has not been known for producing reliable laughs. Rudd managed to become the unofficial “seventh friend”, marrying Lisa Kudrow’s character in the final two seasons of Friends. His film career took off after the success of 2004’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Rudd is one of Judd Apatow’s favorite actors, teaming with the director for The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. Adding size-changing to likability, Rudd picked up another superpower when he joined the MCU as Ant-Man in 2015.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Trailer #2 (2018) *Real Heroes Not Actual Size*

One person MIA in Avengers: Infinity War was Ant-Man.  Something the film’s cast addressed this week.


The answer to the path Scott Lang’s been on since we last saw him in 2015’s Ant-Man will presumably be answered in July’s issue #20 of the MCU: Ant-Man and the Wasp.  The new film will also introduce the Wasp (one of the founding Avengers in the comics) to the MCU.  The villain will be the Ghost, which is an extremely cool choice for a great character that has never gotten mainstream attention.  The film will also add Michelle Pfieffer to the cast as the original Wasp and Laurance Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, the original Giant-Man.  After the intensity of Infinity War, we could use an infusion of fun, and the trailer looks like they’ve clearly been taking the time to think up all the possibilities inherent in Ant-Man’s size-altering powers.  Ant-Man and the Wasp will open July 6, 2018.

With Black Panther, MCU issue #18, almost upon us, and Avengers: Infinity War, MCU issue #19, ready to dominate the summer in May, today Marvel released the first official trailer for issue #20: Ant-Man and the Wasp.  Some people consider Ant-Man the slightest of the MCU movies, but I really loved it and it set a good foundation that this trailer is clearly building on by bringing in one of the best female characters in the Marvel Universe in The Wasp.  Also joining the cast this time are Walter Goggins, Michelle Pfieffer (as the original Wasp), and Laurence Fishburne.  It looks like the villain will be The Ghost, which is a fantastic character that I’m looking forward to seeing how they utilize on screen.

The film will clearly deal with Ant-Man’s fallout from his choices in Civil War, and the telegraphed storyline from the first film that the original Wasp may still be alive and trapped in a subatomic universe.  It’s funny, it builds on the original, and I’m looking forward to seeing Scott Lang, Hank Pym, and the rest of this corner of the MCU in July.

Ant-Man Blu Ray Release Date and Details!!

Disney and Marvel have released the details of special features the Ant-Man Blu Ray which will be hitting stores on December 8th (available digitally November 17th).  No Marvel One-Shot again, which is a disappointment.  Those little one-shots were getting to be worth the price of the blu ray alone.  The last one pretty much swayed my opinion on Iron Man 3 from “waste” to “ok”.  Ant-Man was a nice surprise, given the turmoil in its production and it’ll be fun to see how they did the size-changing chaos that made the film another unique entry in the MCU.  Details on the disc features below from comingsoon.net.

My Favorite Scene: Ant-Man (2015) “Ant-Man vs. Falcon”

Now that we’re 12 films into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’ve got such a large character base that literally anyone can pop up in anyone’s film.  The film universe has that connected feeling that Marvel Comics do.  The latest entry, Ant-Man, got a surprise cameo from Anthony Mackie (who just owns Falcon) when Scott had to break into the Avengers’ new digs.  Not only is it a great fight, but it’s pretty hysterical and will have repercussions for Captain America: Civil War.  This film was so much fun.Paul Rudd, Scott Lang, Ant-Man
