Complete Achievement/Trophy List for FIFA 17 (Xbox, Playstation – 2016)

After the very successful Rio Olympics, looking back, one of the highlights (THE highlight) for the host nation was Brazil’s victory over Germany in an amazing game that came down to the final penalty kick.  So riding that soccer (ahem football) buzz into video game stores is EA Sports’ FIFA 17.  The FIFA series consistently ranks at or near the top of the sports genre, and this year looks to be no exception.  You have some time to kill before it hits shelves on September 27, 2016, for both Xbox and Playstation consoles.  So you might as well spend it watching the highlights from that amazing Gold Medal match between Brazil and Germany (suffering Olympic withdrawal…..2018 Winter  Games in South Korea so far away…..). Trailer Time: Batman – The Telltale Series Trailer #1 (2016 – Xbox, Playstation)

This is one of my most anticipated games of 2016.  A partnership between Telltale Games, who have created an entire genre of chapter-based, choice-oriented stories using licenses like The Walking Dead, Borderlands, Fables, Minecraft, etc. and the Dark Knight.  This is all we know about the plot so far.

Enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of your choices as the Dark Knight. In this gritty and violent new story from the award-winning creators of The Walking Dead– A Telltale Games Series, you’ll make discoveries that will shatter Bruce Wayne’s world, and the already fragile stability of a corrupt Gotham City.

The first episode is due next month digitally.  Store goers will have to wait until September.

Complete Achievement/Trophy List for Madden NFL 17 (Playstation, Xbox – 2016)

Though the start of the NFL season is still a little under two months away, EA Sports has released the achievement list for this year’s installment of the mammoth Madden series.  Madden goes through phases.  There will be a reinvention that makes it worth picking up, then EA will slowly just tire fans and churn out essentially the same product every year with slightly better graphics (which at this point are getting photorealistic).  Two years ago, Madden went through one of its revolutions, last year’s game was essentially the same, this year’s game seems the same as that.  Moreover, though I rarely comment on the content of achievement lists, this just seems lazy.  That won’t stop the game from selling millions of copies when it releases for previous and current gen consoles on August 23, 2016.  See the full achievement list below courtesy of the home for cheevo hunters on the Intertubes: xboxachievements.com.

Complete Achievement List for Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain (2015 – XBOX ONE)

I’ll come clean: I have never played a MGS game.  A lot of that has to do with the series being on the wrong console from mine, but mostly it has to do with my incredible lack of ability to be stealthy in video games.  If there’s a scene that requires me to NOT be heard by guards, I might as well have a boombox strapped to my can and be wearing a strobe light.  I’m totally hopeless.  Solid Snake deserves better than to be lit up like Wolverine taking one for the team.  His latest adventure: Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain releases on September 1, 2015, for all Xbox and Playstation consoles.  Achievements and Trophies below courtesy of the web’s best resource on such matters: xboxachievements.com.  Stay stealthy, folks. Complete Achievement/Trophy List for LEGO Dimensions (2015 – XBOX, Playstation)

Earlier this week, I showed the latest version of Disney Infinity, and explained how its diabolical copying of Skylanders will most likely bankrupt you.  It gets worse/better.  LEGO is getting into the same business.  Same deal.  You buy figures and playsets and they magically appear in the game when you set them on the game pad.  The appeal here is that LEGO has an unholy number of licenses from which to draw.  So you could have Gandalf flying a DeLorean while avoiding death in a Portal world.  I madlibbed that one from their stock of licenses off the top of my head so you can see the possibilities.  Diabolical.  LEGO Dimensions is set to release on September 27, 2015.  Achievement list below courtesy of xboxachievements.com, where you can find any and all of your cheevo questions answered.
