The Empire Strikes Back Gets The Last Jedi Trailer Treatment

Unusual Suspects has put together a truly awesome trailer for The Empire Strikes Back featuring the score and the style of the trailer for The Last Jedi.  A lot of people criticized The Force Awakens for drawing too heavily from A New Hope, but I don’t think that criticism is going to be valid for Empire and TLJ (for the record, I think it’s a lazy critique of the first film in the sequel trilogy).  At any rate, this is just a well-done piece of Star Wars candy to get you through your week.  You can click here to see all six prior saga trilogy films get this same sort of treatment with the music and style of The Force Awakens trailer.

“Before the Dark Times”: Stunningly Powerful Star Wars Fan Video

MrRazNZ has assembled one of the most powerful Star Wars fan videos I have ever run across.  Whether you love or hate the Prequel Trilogy, the final showdown between Anakin and Obi-Wan is undoubtedly one of if not the most powerful scene in any of the films.  It changed forever how you view Obi-Wan in the Original Trilogy, especially his initial meeting with Luke.  This video does an exceptional job, using Williams score (mostly from Episode III’s “The Immolation Scene” track) to weave that initial talk in Obi-Wan’s hut between Luke and Ben with flashing back to the actual events.  What was once a whimsical talk between a mysterious man and a young boy is now a only the truth “from a certain point of view” conveyed to a son by the weary and aged warrior who had to cut down his father and watch him burn.  There are literally thousands of these kinds of videos on YouTube, but this one is a work of art and does the best job of expounding upon how seeing what happened on Mustafar changes the original film forever for viewers than anything I’ve ever read or seen.

Trailer Time: Star Wars Battlefront II (2017 – Xbox, Playstation)

The original Star Wars Battlefront games had single player modes that were integral to the enjoyment of the game, and DICE made a big mistake omitting a campaign from its revival of the franchise.  Normally video game trailers don’t come on the site until launch, but we are all Star Wars geeks, and Star Wars video games are canon now (the first Battlefront is how the brought back Boba Fett post ROTJ).  This campaign reveal looks amazingly epic, spanning the destruction of the second Death Star to the rise of The First Order.  I was not pleased with the multiplayer-only first installment, but this trailer has me changing my mind.  Read more below from Coming Soon for all the details. Star Wars Saga Tribute: Fallen Army

While Killing TIme readers have a diverse number of interests, pretty much all of us are die-hard Star Wars fans.  I’m mentally exhausted by the events of the last few weeks and the arguing, so today, I honestly don’t want to do anything more than check out to a galaxy, far, far away, a place we all love.  Leoberry has created this epic tribute to the most intense moments of battle and sacrifice in all eight Star Wars films and did a fantastic job.  Watch and repeat.  Watch and repeat.
