10 Famous Actors Hidden in Your Favorite Movies

It’s always fun when a director can insert a famous actor into their movie for a quick cameo in a way that doesn’t detract from the film.  That’s a fine line to walk, but when you get it right, you usually find out about it afterward and it just makes you like a movie you already enjoyed all the more.  The most famous recent example was the discovery that Daniel Craig was slipped into Star Wars Episode VII as a stormtrooper.  It’s something that you can definitely notice if you’re listening for his vote, but I had no clue that James Bond was wandering around Starkiller Base until I found out after the fact.  Screen Rant has put together a great video going over 10 similar instances in film history where famous stars or directors made a quick appearance in famous movies.

What to do about Carrie Fisher? The Episode IX Dilemma.

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Han Solo, Princess Leia

It’s a question all Star Wars fans have been asking since the tragic death of Carrie Fisher last month: “How big a deal is this going to be for the finale of the current trilogy?”  Unfortunately, it’s a really big deal. A movie (yes, even a Star Wars movie) next to the life of a person is nothing at all, but Leia is going be the largest part of her acting legacy. I don’t think it’s out of line for fans to be concerned for the future of Leia, for in our concern for the character, we’re also safeguarding Fisher’s decades-long investment in the character.

Kylo Ren Reacts Reviews Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!!!

We here at Killing Time are huge, huge fans of Auralnauts hysterical web series “Kylo Ren Reacts”.  We got the fledgling Sith Lord’s opinion on the trailers as they came out (see below along with the now-classic SNL skit Kylo Ren: Undercover Boss), but it was only a matter of time before Kylo settled down to give us his VERY SPOILER FILLED thoughts on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  We get his weigh in on the shots in trailers not making the final cut of the film, a shout-out to the fight picking dedication of Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba, a formal apology to the Death Star’s welding crew, and GRANDFATHER!!!!!!  Yesterday, Star Wars moved most of us to tears as we lost Carrie Fisher, but Star Wars is, at it’s core, a joyful thing, and out of joy comes laughter.  So, while the hurt lingers, let’s laugh a little too.  That’s just as big a way to honor Fisher’s career as to mourn her passing.

My Favorite Scene: Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens (2015) “Jedi Steps”

It seems surreal that a year ago, we were all poised on a knife’s edge to see if Episode VII would be the Star Wars film we hoped it would be.  A year later, we find ourselves a little (ok a lot) more confident going into the first Star Wars spin-off film, but there’s still that tinge of nervousness that fans won’t be able to exorcise until we all see Rogue One for ourselves.  Even if it’s everything that we hope it will be, it won’t make nearly as much as The Force Awakens or be the global phenomenon that was.  The Force Awakens united a fractured Star Wars fanbase and opened a doorway for seeming infinite visits to a galaxy far, far away (which is fortunate as Disney definitely is going to give us one a year).  I lost count of how many times I’ve watched it this year before it even came to Blu Ray so picking a favorite scene is every bit as tough with this installment as it is in the other Saga films.  In the end, I chose the end. Kylo Ren Reacts to Rogue One Trailers and Goes on Undercover Boss!!!

One of the great things about Star Wars is it has the ability to take itself extremely seriously, but at the same time, viciously parody itself out of love.  After watching Kylo Ren execute one of the most beloved characters in film history, you’d think there could be nothing funny about him, but Auralnauts and SNL beg to differ.  Auralnauts has put together two videos in which an actor (who is either secretly Adam Driver or doing an amazing impression with vocal filters) reacts to the upcoming promos for the film from “his grandfather’s” glory days.  Also included is a sketch from when Adam Driver hosted Saturday Night Live last season and absolutely killed in a skit where Kylo Ren participates in the boss/employee switcheroo show: Undercover Boss.  Watch and enjoy the humor of the DARK SIDE!!!
