Thor: Ragnarok Blu Ray Release Date and Special Features

Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in Thor: Ragnarok

Disney and Marvel have officially announced that they will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Taika Waititi’s blockbuster Thor: Ragnarok (2017), starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, and Jeff Goldblum. The two releases will be available for purchase on March 6.

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his home world and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett). But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) – and grapple with his silver-tongued adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), the fierce warrior Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and the eccentric Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Every Thor: Ragnarok Easter Egg

Thor: Ragnarok is absolutely jam-packed full of Easter Eggs for both Thor and Hulk.  I caught a lot of them, but nowhere near as many as Screencrush did and they’ve created the comprehensive guide to secrets in Ragnarok.  So, obviously, SPOILER WARNING, and go try to pick them out of the film yourself a few times before giving this a go and seeing how many of the 29 you can find.

Movie Review: Thor Ragnarok (2017) *A Cosmic Comedy Epic Forever Changing the MCU*

Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok makes the MCU three for three in 2017.  Three excellent additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that could not be more different from each other, except that they all brought the funny.  Thor’s third solo outing is his best, ably directed by relatively unknown Kiwi director Taika Waititi.  If all you need to know is if the film is worth the rave reviews that it is getting: it is.  If you want to know if, unlike Guardians 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming, if this film has big MCU plot twists in it: it does.  And if you just want to know how many post-credits scenes there are: two.  I don’t do spoilery reviews of MCU movies, but that’s all you need to know if you were on the verge about going or not. Movie Review: Kong Skull Island (2017) *Kong’s Island is Hollow*

kongbig
Coming out of last year’s Comic Con, I thought Kong Skull Island was the most impressive looking film of the bunch, and I had high hopes for cinema’s ape emeritus going into his first outing since the bloated mess that was Peter Jackson’s King Kong.  This film takes place in the MONARCH Universe (I’m not sure if there’s an official name) along with Gareth Edward’s Godzilla and the upcoming-wait for it-Godzilla vs. King Kong.  Like Godzilla, the film gets the monster right.  This is an interesting take on Kong, and one that does him justice.  The problem, like in Godzilla, are the humans surrounding him. Thor: Ragnarok Trailer #3 (2017) “Thor, Destiny Has Dire Plans For You”

In the third trailer for Thor: Ragnarok (also the Japanese trailer in which the film’s weird lettering makes sense for the first time), we get mostly footage from the first two trailers, but it does have a very new beginning featuring Doctor Strange.  We knew Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme would be in the film from one of Doctor Strange‘s end credits scenes last year, but he opens this trailer, which has a much more dire tone than the humor of the first two, by telling Thor that his fate has changed and destiny has dire plans for him.  Read below for the official synopsis.  Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3, 2017.
