Comic Con 2014: Saturday’s Posters – First Look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max

Day 4 of Comic Con is usually when the big bombs drop, but aside from the first photo of Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman and a release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 it was surprisingly quiet. A King Kong prequel called Skull Island was announced and we know we’ll see Rodan and Mothra in Godzilla 2. We got Thor and Hulk and the final pieces of the Avengers Age of Ultron collage that’s been building since Wednesday. We also got four one-sheets for Mad Max: Fury Road. We’ll have to see what tomorrow’s closing day brings. Stay tuned!

Trailer Time: Locke (2014)

Coming April 18, 2014, Tom Hardy stars in a film that’s generating a lot of positive festival buzz and could provide the performance platform for him he’s been looking for since he took off the mask as Bane.  “A  single phone call causes the life of a successful construction manager to unravel during his drive home.”  The trailer is incredibly clautrophobic and tense and I’m interested in what writer/director Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) has come up with here.  Locke stars Tom Hardy, Ruth Wilson, Andrew Scott, Tom Holland and Ben Daniels.

The Dark Knight Legend

I had to share this amazing video I found.  If you ever find yourself wanting to watch The Dark Knight Trilogy and you only have ten minutes….just boot this up.  Bravo.

More Details on the The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Edition

The Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collection, Batman, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises,

We got a peek at the long-promised Dark Knight Trilogy box set last week, but Warner Brothers has released an official description and image of the Batbox.  The new special features sound interesting and the packaging is beautiful, but is really all we’re getting a book, that disc of new features and some hot wheels?  I was hoping for comprehensive special features for each of the films, many of which were missing (especially from The Dark Knight) from the original releases.  Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but it sounds like the only new things, disc-wise, are on the final special features disc.  The Dark Knight Trilogy is a perfect rendition of my vision of Batman and will likely be untouchable by any future version, so I’m likely to get it.  I’m a little let down, though, by the content.  It is a handsome looking thing, you have to give it that.  WB official press release below:

Christopher Nolan’s reimagining of the Batman franchise beginning with 2005’s Batman Begins enjoyed phenomenal critical and box-office success.

Now on September 24, Nolan’s three Batman films – Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises – will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition. The six-disc set will feature all three films with their existing extra content, two new featurettes and exclusive new collectible memorabilia. This must-own collection for fans of DC Comics’ Caped Crusader is available in premium packaging and will sell for $99.97 SRP.

About The Films

Batman Begins (2005)
Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents’ murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

The Dark Knight (2008)
The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective, but soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the cast as Rachel Dawes. Returning from Batman Begins are Oldman, Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.

Dark Knight Rises (2012)
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. Christian Bale stars, along with Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman.

I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW!  NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Warner Bros. dropped the tiniest nugget of information that they’d be releasing “The Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collector’s Edition” some time in 2013. It was then revealed, thanks to a release calendar, that the set would be released sometime in Q3 of this year. Now it appears we’ve got our first look at the box set thanks to Batcave.com.pl (via /Film).

Including nine discs, including two Blu-rays and a DVD for each movie in the series, the set will also house all-new special features and small die cast replicas for the “Bat-vehicles.” No word yet on pricing for the set, but expect this one to cost a little extra. Check back here for more updates on the set as we learn them.
