Site Note: KT Has Been Smacked by Mother Nature

Hi, all.  I just wanted to pop on the laptop I am borrowing in the house where I have taken refuge, to let you know that site updates may be spotty for a few days.  Huge thunderstorms hit the mid-Atlantic region of the States last night.  There were several lightning strikes in my neighborhood, trees struck, the power is not expected to be back for days, but thankfully no one was hurt.  I can try to keep updating the Twitter and Facebook KT pages (@sleeplessdave on Twitter and Facebook.com/KillingTime2014) from my phone.  I’m sorry, but not too much I can do about it.  When I get back home, blowtorch out whatever has grown in the fridge, and get the wireless working again, we’ll be back up to speed.

  1. I’m happy that you got through the worst of it!

If you haven’t seen Finding Dory yet, no worries (not that you have any). It’s not as good as Finding Nemo, but it’s still beyond wonderful, and the technology has advanced by leaps and bounds. Which I think is exactly what everyone has been expecting. The octopus, voiced by Ed O’Neil, theaters to steal the movie from Ellen Degeneres, and although he ultimately fails, I was extremely impressed by the way the animators got the character to emote. Also, the short that plays before the movie contains the most beautiful, accomplished animation in the history of the medium. There’s this one moment… let’s just say you’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it (that’s if you haven’t seen it yet).
