This was on my Most Anticipated of 2014 list as a dark horse candidate, primarily because of the strength of the source material (Jonathan Tropper’s novel) and the HUGE, talented cast. Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Timothy Olyphant, Connie Britton, Corey Stoll and Dax Shepherd among others. Check out the trailer above and the synopsis below. This is Where I Leave You opens in theaters on September 12, 2014.
When their father passes away, four grown siblings, bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Confronting their history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, they ultimately reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide— driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.
Happy Saturday, True Believers! As a Marvel-y present this fine, sunny Saturday, we have a new poster for AMS 2 featuring Spidey battling the Rhino (coolest look yet at the mech suit which I really dig…though I’m playing Titanfall right now and that may have something to do with it). The poster is in honor of the fact that in 4 days we’ll get our ….fourth? I believe our fourth AMS2 trailer, most likely the final one, but who knows? Last yeat Star Trek Into Darkness was tossing out trailers like t-shirts into a crowd until it debuted. Amazing Spider-Man 2 will debut in theaters nationwide on May 1, 2014.

Today’s Killing Time will be a little different from the normal look at what’s going on with the site and what media is being consumed. 2013 is behind us and, as it was the first year of Killing Time, I thought we’d look back on the most popular pieces of the year by each category: a bit of an archive of what (through absolutely no apparent logic) ended up being the most popular posts of the year. We’ll get back to regular format next week as we will in most things, but there’s still a bit of looking back to do before we can surge forward! Happy New Year! Previously we thought that the first trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 (though I’m hearing there may be a last minute title change) would premiere with The Hobbit the Desolation of Smaug. I thought that was kind of cool because I remember way back when Fellowship of the Ring premiered, it was the first time they showed the trailer for the first Spider-Man. Alas, we live in an age when all trailers debut online and so KT will have it up as soon as Sony posts it on 12/5/13.
