Killing Time – March 6, 2014

killing time

“Whoever invented “spring forward” as a time keeping concept should be shot.  You owe me a couple dozen hours.”

This week I have to be honest, I did very little media consumption.  I’ve been feeling under the weather and not in a curl up with a book kind of way.  It’s more of a stare blankly at the ceiling and stare at the clock counting down to the next Nyquil dose sort of thing.  For that reason, though I have it drafted, I’m going to delay Gary Oldman’s latest vs. greatest until next week.  I’m trying to figure out who is following him but some candidates are Anthony Hopkins, Charlize Theron, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.  If you want to vote in the comments, feel free.  We also have a new user-suggested poll up to mark the return of Star Wars Clone Wars.  I will not lie.  I got up at 3, 530 and 7 this morning to see if I could squeeze in some episodes before work but it hadn’t been posted to Netflix yet.  Blargh.

Killing Time milestones this week: The site passed 59,000 hits this week, 2300 comments, 1550 posts and we’re nearing 300 followers by email (not counting Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook).  Greenland, I’m reaching the end of my “ahem” phase.  Next comes hard hitting exposes on corruption in tuna fishing, so let’s snap to a hit.

We did get our first visit from Macau this week so let’s throw up a flag in respect…have one here on my BOARD OF PEOPLE SHUNNING ME….take these fine people down….and BAM

Macau has essentially the same relationship with China as Hong Kong does (of course you’re free….until you displease us).  It has a long and storied history that makes a good Wikipedia read, but I welcome them to the site.  Hong Kong’s been here for like a year, guys.  I’m just saying.  Tick tock.

The most viewed post of the week, for the third consecutive week was the Achievements/Trophies for Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2.  This post is now the #5 most viewed one I’ve ever put up, so can someone playing it give us a report because the reviews I’ve read have been pretty dismal and I thought the first one was a masterpiece.
