Each Thursday we look at what is going to be coming out in theaters this weekend, show you the trailers for the big releases, predict the box office winner and just generally give you enough of a carrot to pull you through the rest of the work week.  September 9th kicks off a September so unusually strong that it’s actually a more intriguing slate of films than October sports.  The biggest opener is the Tom Hanks/Clint Eastwood film about “The Miracle on the Hudson”: Sully, but there are three other new films looking to end Don’t Breathe‘s reign at the box office. Collateral Beauty stars Will Smith as a man in the aftermath of an unspeakable tragedy.  His way of coping of it is by writing letters.  Not to the deceased.  They tell you to do that in grief counseling and sometimes it helps.  Smith is writing letters to Death, Love, and Time.  And mailing them.  This has his friends understandably concerned, but not as concerned as Smith when Death (Helen Mirren) shows up with one of his letters in hand. Trailer Time: Underworld Blood Wars (2017) *Beckinsale, Vampires, and Werewolves…SWEET!*

I have loved the Underworld series since the first installment.  You have vampires.  You have werewolves (Lycans).  You have them fighting a war through the ages.  You have Kate Beckinsale in skin-tight leather.  You can call them a guilty pleasure, but I the first 2017 movie I see is probably going to be the fifth (and likely final) film in the franchise, Underworld: Blood Wars.
