The Harry Potter films finished just before the beginning of Killing Time, so we haven’t had a lot of cause to talk about the eight-film franchise. That changes this month as we return to The Wizarding World for the first in a five-film series spun out of one of Harry’s textbooks at Hogwarts: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The new series takes place in early 20th Century America, far from the magical castle where we saw Harry, Ron and Hermione grow up from Sorcerer’s Stone to part two of The Deathly Hallows. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, despite my being sick of the franchise as it stands now, has an incredible bonus going for it: it’s currently the only way to get your hands on the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (among the best shooters ever made). THIS is Call of Duty at its absolute peak. The multiplayer was revolutionary and the campaign wasn’t just tacked-on; it was a blockbuster you were driving from start to finish. I have no doubt that eventually we’ll be able to get our hands on it without purchasing the bundle, but if you cave, your cheevos are below, courtesy of xboxachievements.com. I know it seems it’s raining new games, but that’s because it is. For whatever reason, we can’t space releases out throughout the year; all big games come out between September and the first week in December (and then there’s not even an Xbox game scheduled for release until the end of January). It’s crazy, but for non-gamers, the turn back toward mostly film coverage is coming. This is just gaming’s redonkulous busy season.
