Trailer Time: War Machine Trailer #1 (2017) *Netflix Changes Movies*

Remember just a few short years ago, when the only Netflix TV shows were House of Cards and Orange is the New Black?  Then came the Marvel shows.  Now every Friday there seems like there’s ten new Netflix shows.  This is by design.  Netflix has gone $800 million dollars in the red with the goal of providing 60-70% original content in a few years.  They’re not just going after winning more Emmys though.  They want Oscars. Nutrition Obsessed Bane Outtakes

We do a lot of serious looking at film…but sometimes you just want to be stupid funny about the films we love and for that you need Auralnauts.  You’ve probably seen the Kylo Ren Reacts series that the YouTube channel (to which you should subscribe) put up during the roll-up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but before that (and this site), they had an equally fun time with vocally distorting themselves into Tom Hardy’s Bane from The Dark Knight Rises.  So for a Friday laugh, I present: Nutrition-Obsessed Bane.  HE WILL FEEEED YOU….PROPERLY!!! TGIF, Time Killers.

Trailer Time: War for the Planet of the Apes Trailer #2 (2017) *APES…TOGETHER…STRONG!!!*

July looks like the best month of the summer, with an amazing release each week.  If it ends up being like this month, which was similarly crowded, the releases in the first half are going to be the ones walking tall at the box office (though August looks pretty barren compared to April).  Each entry in Matt Reeves’ Apes revival has been better, and War for the Planet of the Apes looks like the culmination of his revival of the franchise and Andy Serkis’ astounding achievement in bringing Caesar to life.  I’m a Chris Nolan disciple so Dunkirk is my #1 July film….but I think I’m looking forward to this even more than Spider-Man.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

My Favorite Scene: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) “Sirius Fades to Black and Dumbledore vs. Voldemort”

With the triumphant return of The Wizarding World in the wake of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (out TODAY on Blu Ray), we’re running back through the Harry Potter series, examining the best of each in one “My Favorite Scene” column a month.  This month the wizarding war begins in earnest with the fifth entry: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: the only film in the series I felt was actually better than Rowling’s book.
