In Theaters This Week (7/27/2018): Mission Impossible: Fallout, Teen Titans GO To The Movies

Teen Titans GO! To the Movies
Each Thursday we look at what is going to be coming out in theaters this weekend, show you the trailers for the big releases, predict the box office winner and just generally give you enough of a carrot to pull you through the rest of the work week.  This week brings TWO well-reviewed new films into wide release.

Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Fallout

The Mission Impossible franchise defies the conventions of modern cinema by continuing to get better and more popular 22 years into the series.  The sixth film, Mission Impossible: Fallout, began screening for critics nearly a month ago, and it’s easy to see why.  Reviews for the Tom Cruise action film have been ridiculous.  The movie sits at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes with many reviewers calling it one of the best action films of all-time.  Also releasing this weekend is the big screen version of the animated series Teen Titans GO!  Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is at 88%, and if your kids enjoy the cartoon taking them to the film is a no-brainer (and definitely a lot less painful for you than, say, Hotel Transylvania 3).

How Did We Do Last Week? KT’s perfect 2018 came to an end last week as the site had its first loss since September 2017.  The Equalizer 2 overperformed to edge out Mama Mia: Here We Go Again $36.1 million to $35.1 million.
(2018 Prediction Record: 28-1; Lifetime prediction record 113-11).

WHO WILL WIN THE WEEKEND?
Mission Impossible: Fallout will get us back on track.  The film should dominate the weekend.
