I’m really looking forward to SHIELD coming back. The show really found its legs in the back half of season one and the integration with the cinematic MCU really has an anything can happen feel. Only a few weeks until season 2!
The “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” cast includes Clark Gregg as fan favorite Phil Coulson, along with Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
The series is executive produced by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb. Season 2 of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will premiere on September 23
Mockingbird is a perfect character for Agents of SHIELD. While she’s cool, she’s not cool enough to merit inclusion in The Avengers. This will give them a chance to define her, plus she’s Hawkeye’s ex-wife! Perfect way to get Jeremy Renner on the show a few times. Plus, I’m obligated to be gleeful anytime someone from Friday Night Lights joins a project I’m following. Full story from Coming Soon below. Patton Oswalt is featured in the first teaser for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 2. Season one was a slow burn, but the last six episodes showed the potential of the show and its potential to enhance and integrate with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The teaser hints at a new member of the time Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird.
A member of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Avengers in the comics, Mockingbird was first created by Gerry Conway and Barry Smith and introduced in Astonishing Tales #6 in 1971. Though she doesn’t have any super powers, she was injected with an experimental serum that gave her enhanced strength and speed. The character also became romantically involved with Hawkeye in the source material.
The cast of the show includes Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 will premiere on September 23rd.
Look for a review of the pilot for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD (the highest-rated premiere for any drama in the last four years) shortly. I’d like to do a review of each episode and have a give-and-take dialogue within the KT community during the season, so look for that in the next day or so. That should not stop you, however, from beginning to speculate on “0-8-4” and “The Asset”: episodes two and three. Here are ABC’s official synopses along with a pic from each. MAS airs each week at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays on ABC.
MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “0-8-4”; – Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. agents travel to Peru to investigate an object of unknown origin, codenamed 0-8-4.
