Young Lando Calrissian Will Officially Be Played by Donald Glover!!!!

Disney is quickly sinking into Marvel’s long-term-game formula as casting and pre-production for 2018’s Han Solo spin-off film are well underway even though there are two Star Wars films to release before them.  Long-rumored, Lucasfilm has finally confirmed that former Community and Atlanta star Donald Glover will be playing young Lando Calrissian in the spin-off.  This is, BY FAR, the most exciting casting announcement for me, of any since the films started back up.  Glover is going to absolutely nail this and his involvement takes my interest in the Han Solo spin-off and shoots it through the roof. Trailer Time: Community Season Six (2014)

Against all odds, the plucky bunch at Greendale Community College will be back for their sixth season, keeping alive the “six seasons and movie” hope of Community fans everywhere.  An epic trailer (Community does no other sort) for the new season has released.  Community will air on Yahoo Screen.  No premiere date has been set, but “look for it soon”.

Yahoo and Sony Pictures Television today announced that “Community” will return this fall for a highly-anticipated sixth season, with 13 new episodes available exclusively on Yahoo Screen.

Dan Harmon created “Community” and serves as executive producer. Russ Krasnoff (“The Soloist”) also serves as executive producer, along with Gary Foster (Sleepless in Seattle) and Chris McKenna (“The Mindy Project”).

“I am very pleased that ‘Community’ will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo,” comments Dan Harmon. “I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, ‘Big Bang Theory.’ Look out, Bang Bus!”

NBC Cancels Community After 5 Seasons; NBC 2014-2015 Schedule Decisions.

I can’t think of any other show that’s been as misunderstood or mistreated by its network than Community.  Rather than embrace the fact that they have a show with a rabidly solid fan base, NBC constantly interfered with, tinkered with and stacked the odds against our plucky gang of slackers from Greendale Community College.  The show’s quality only dipped with NBC fired Dan Harmon, the show runner after season three, only to relent and hire him back after season four.  I think even die-hard Community fans saw this coming with Donald Glover and Chevvy Chase leaving the show this year, but it’s still sad.  “Six seasons and a movie” was a dream that will remain unrealized unless we can Kickstarter it onto another network. My Favorite Scene: Community Season One (NBC – 2010)


This was tough.  Naturally, I drifted toward the most brilliant episode of any comedy in recent years: The Paintball War.  That, really, is more of a whole episode of awesome rather than a single moment.  Back when this was just a show about a community college, the break out moments were always the 30 seconds of credits where Troy and Abed would do something completely random and hysterical.  The best of these…ladies and gentlemen….THE DISCO SPIDER RAP!
