Just in time for Star Wars Day, Telltale Games has released a full trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Check out the new trailer and game details below courtesy of xboxachivements.com.
TT Games and Warner Bros. have released a new trailer and some fresh details on LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens to tie in with Star Wars Day, revealing some of the untold stories you’ll experience in the game that lead up to the events of the movie.
The New Adventures Trailer shows off stories like Han and Chewie’s voyage to capture the ravenous Rathtars; the Crimson Corsair foiling the plans of the First Order; the secrets behind Lor San Tekka’s journey to Jakku Village; Poe Dameron’s daring rescue of Admiral Ackbar; the events leading to C-3PO obtaining his red arm; and the discovery of a puzzle piece that leads to the Resistance and the First Order finding Lor San Tekka on Jakku in the movie’s opening.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also include original voice work from Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), and other key members of the movie’s cast.
I can’t remember the last time I experienced as much pure joy from a movie than when I got to see The LEGO Movie for the first time in February. Loved it. Own it. Beat the video game. May or may not have bought LEGO sets. Definitely refer to all super glue as “Kraggle”.
I was excited that they had already announced a sequel to the film, but today Warner Brothers announced three other LEGO movies, establishing this as a new franchise for them. LEGO’s Ninjago (yes, LEGO Ninjas) is coming on September 23, 2016. The LEGO Movie 2 is set for May 26, 2017. Two other TBD LEGO films are coming on May 25, 2018 and May 24, 2019. The LEGO Movie 3? Perhaps LEGO will get permission to make a feature using one of the gazillion franchises it has licenses for (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, DC, Marvel, Harry Potter, etc.). The important thing will be to maintain the quality that made the first one a success. I want lots of LEGO movies, but they need to pay Phil Lord and Chris Miller whatever they want to stay around and write and direct them. Otherwise, this news is AWESOME!!!
How are you celebrating Star Wars Day today? Later today will see the release of the first official trailer for the new Star Wars Rebels animated series and who knows what other announcements might pop up on this most joyous and geeky of holidays? I, personally, am paging through my LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary while humming variations of the Cantina theme. It’s early, ok?
2014 looks like a great year for Star Wars fans. We’ve already had the first casting announcement from Episode VII, production is under way on the sequel trilogy, we should hear about spin-off film plans, a brand new TV series begins in the fall, a brand new EU begins in the fall with the publishing of Star Wars: A New Dawn and that’s just the stuff I can think of in the middle of the night reading about LEGOS! A joyous fourth to all time killers everywhere, and whatever you do today, throw a little extra geek into the effort!
