One of the great things about having The Flash spin-off from Arrow is that there is a pre-existing relationship between the two heroes that’s grown into a friendship not unlike the one that Batman/Superman share (only they try to kill each other less often). With Oliver a seasoned veteran by this point and Barry relying more on his powers than his brain, Ollie decides to give Barry a training session that would make Batman weep with joy.
Arrow has continued to be one of the strongest shows on TV during its run, which now enters the fourth season. If you’re not up-to-date, both the synopsis for season four and the trailer are going to ruin a lot of the wealth of changes that season three wrought for Team Arrow. I haven’t heard anything official, but I assume next season will be the last for the show. It’s format has been to intertwine a year in the life of the evolving Hood, Arrow, Green Arrow with that of one of the five years Oliver Queen spent away before returning home. Extrapolating that out, next season will be the loop closing, covering the last year he was away and leading us back to the series premiere. As much as I would love to see it go on, it seems that’s where the writers have been heading since the beginning. We still have miles to go, though, and this trailer promises another awesome run when Arrow returns next month
After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble? Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver’s crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra’s al Ghul, is anyone really safe?
Thankfully, the long Arrow-less winter of our discontent comes to an end when the mid-season premiere “Blast Radius” (Episode 2.10) airs on The CW January 15th at 8pm EST. Arrow’s second season has thus far been a DCU explosion of awesomeness; nearly a live-action Justice League Unlimied-level use of the sandbox of the universe. Catch up before Blast Radius and jump on for the rest of the season! The CW’s official press release for the episode is below. I’ll put it after the break to avoid spoiling if you’re still catching up (hey, I’m a considerate geek). Continue reading Trailer Time: Arrow Episode 2.10 “Blast Radius” (Mid-Season Premiere)
Lots of Arrow news lately! EW has pictures of Oliver finally getting himself a mask. He’s spent the greater part of a season and a half with gunk smeared across his eyes and holding his head at an angle that probably has caused Stephen Amell nerve damage to his neck. The obtaining the mask will be very much a plot point and part of the evolution of Oliver from the Vigilante who begins the series to the Green Arrow we know. Look for the mask soon! Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
