I loved Blade Runner 2049, box office disappointment that it was, and currently have it as my #2 film of 2017.  I can’t wait to own this one and dive into the special features when it hits stores in January.  Full details below (you can read my Blade Runner 2049 Review here).

Warner Brothers today announced the release of Blade Runner 2049 on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD. From Oscar-nominated director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) comes Alcon Entertainment’s science fiction thriller Blade Runner 2049.

Ryan Gosling is finally moving from mostly indie films into the big time, and over the last five years has been an integral part of some of the best films produced.  Gosling’s talent stretches from comedy (The Nice Guys, Crazy Stupid Love) to hard drama (Half-Nelson, The Ides of March) to action (Blade Runner 2049) and even song and dance (La La Land).  Gosling’s dedication to his roles is such that he learned to play the piano for La La Land.  With Blade Runner 2049’s critical success, Gosling can really do whatever he wants and join the elite ranks of Hollywood’s leading men.

Movie Review: Blade Runner 2049 (2017) *The New Masterpiece Tops The Old*

Despite not being a fan of the original Blade Runner, I completely acknowledge its importance to science fiction film making.  It’s undoubtedly a seminal work in the genre.  Blade Runner 2049 surpasses it on every level.  It is the rare sequel to a seemingly standalone film that takes everything good about the film and enhance its predecessor while simultaneously telling a better directed, better written, better acted, and visually superior installment.  Blade Runner 2049 isn’t just another Denis Villenueve masterpiece; it’s arguably the best film of 2017.
